The apostle Paul was quick to both acknowledge and reflect upon the troubles of life which came his way in serving the Lord Jesus Christ. Especially in II Corinthians, Paul is focused upon the messiness of life and the faithfulness of God to sustain His children through all manner of troubles and challenges.
Our textual passage in II Cor. 4:16-18 is a representative capsule of truth addressed to Christians about how to face life's difficulties. We were told by Jesus to expect them (John 16:33 “...in this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world”). This lesson outlines how God works through the various dimensions of our life to keep us spiritually strong and fruitful!

As the holy spirit reaveals His word in scripture, are our hearts burning for the things of God as well?

The tragedy of modern evangelism is to call many people to faith but few to obedience. Salvation in our Wesleyan heritage includes justification followed by sanctification. The theme of holiness and sanctification includes the entire life of a believer from the moment they receive Christ as Savior until they died.
Throughout this study, Lt. Colonel Vern Jewett studies the conversion of the Apostle Paul.

This podcast begins a series on how holiness is expressed in the lives of Christians as it relates to worldly possessions. Lt. Colonel Jewett suggests that an important foundational principle is that God has provided “enough” resources to provide for the basic needs of everyone. The Christian who lives intimately with God is satisfied with “enough” and lives in stark contrast to a world that serves “mammon” (money) and is driven by greed, excess, entitlement, overconsumption and over productivity.

This podcast addresses God's deep desire to live in communion with His people. The NT text is Hebrews 4:14-16 which describes Jesus as our great high priest.
It teaches us that he understands our struggles, having become fully human Himself, and now advocates for us with the Father. Amazingly, we live in the presence of the triune God as the Holy Spirit lives in us.
